Harry Arter supporting 4Louis

AFC Bournemouth midfielder Harry Arter and his fiancé Rachel have set-up an auction to raise money in memory of their stillborn daughter Renée.

All proceeds from the auction will go to Arter's chosen charity 4Louis, a family-run organisation which provides support for bereaved parents who suffer a stillbirth or neonatal death by providing UK hospitals with equipment, such as memory boxes and cuddle cots.

Having benefited greatly from 4Louis’ support over the past five months, Arter now wants to help raise vital funds for the charity.

“4Louis really stuck out as helping us,” explained the 26-year-old.

“We look at the memory box they provided every day - it’s in our front room at home. And as much as that doesn’t get rid of the pain, it does help to ease it a little bit.

“They are run just by donations and help so many people that are in despair and going through what we went through, so we wanted to give back as much as we could.

“I am not sure what kind of donations they are used to, but hopefully with this auction we can make it some sort of record for them.”

With the help of the football community, the Republic of Ireland international has collected some superb pieces of memorabilia to auction, which include:

•Match worn shirts from the whole AFC Bournemouth squad from their match against Tottenham Hotspur.

•Match worn shirt from Watford’s Troy Deeney.

•Match worn and signed Scott Parker Fulham shirt.

•Eddie Howe and Jason Tindall signed AFC Bournemouth training top.

•Signed boots from 21 AFC Bournemouth players, including a pair from Yann Kermorgant.

•2 x VIP experiences for AFC Bournemouth's final home games against Chelsea and West Bromwich Albion.

There is also the option for all of the match worn shirts to be signed and/or personalised as requested.

“We are so grateful for this support,” commented 4Louis trustee Bob McGurrell.

“These kind donations will help our small, family-run charity continue to support bereaved parents at a very difficult time in their lives.

“We would like to thank Harry and AFC Bournemouth from the bottom of our hearts for embracing the charity in this way.”

The auction will be held on 4Louis’ official eBay page and will launch at 5pm on Friday 8th April before closing at 5pm on Monday 18th April 2016.

Busy day yesterday, up before the crack of dawn picking up new recruit Sharon Abbott in Barnsley then off to a 10am start at the John Moore University in Liverpool to speak at a study day. We were welcomed by Emma and all the students who were fab and really feel that the bereavement service will only improve with passionate midwives coming through. Graham & Beth Lillico held a fund raising barbecue at their house for close friends and family on the 15th August in memory of Charles.

The generosity of local businesses for raffle prizes, neighbours and local organisations helping out and their own friends/family has been over whelming!! So the grand total from their little back yard event is a massive £2,060!!

Well done to you all and we love the photos too. x Thank you so much for the support x
